Effective
January 2026
Applies to

Governed by

Overview

Telehealth consultations may be offered in selected circumstances to provide initial assessment and discussion.

Telehealth involves the use of:

  • video consultation
  • telephone consultation
  • secure digital communication
Limitations of Telehealth

Telehealth consultations have inherent limitations.

They may not allow for:

  • full physical examination
  • detailed assessment of skin quality or tissue characteristics
  • precise evaluation of anatomical structures

As a result:

  • recommendations may be preliminary
  • an in-person consultation is often required prior to treatment
Suitability for Telehealth

Telehealth may be appropriate for:

  • initial discussions
  • general advice regarding treatment options
  • follow-up consultations in selected cases

It may not be appropriate where:

  • detailed physical assessment is required
  • clinical findings need in-person evaluation
No Immediate Treatment Decisions

Treatment will not be performed based solely on telehealth consultation.

All procedures require:

  • in-person assessment
  • confirmation of suitability
  • formal informed consent
Privacy and Confidentiality

Telehealth consultations are conducted with attention to patient privacy.

However, patients should be aware that:

  • electronic communication carries inherent risks
  • secure platforms are used where possible

Patients are encouraged to:

  • participate from a private location
  • ensure confidentiality on their side
Technical Considerations

Patients are responsible for:

  • ensuring a stable internet or phone connection
  • using a suitable device

Technical disruptions may:

  • interrupt the consultation
  • require rescheduling if necessary
Fees and Payments

Telehealth consultations are subject to:

  • the same consultation fees as in-person appointments
  • the same cancellation policy

Details will be provided at the time of booking.

Emergency Situations

Telehealth is not suitable for urgent or emergency medical concerns.

Patients requiring urgent care should contact:

  • their general practitioner
  • emergency services
Consent for Telehealth

By participating in a telehealth consultation, patients acknowledge:

  • the limitations of remote assessment
  • the need for in-person review where appropriate
